The Horror! The Horror! The Halloween Snowfall: trick, not treat.

The October snow was a crazy bit o' weather which left us bemused and de-treed. Alas, the lovely, strange and rare Franklinia is now minus one of its three major branches. And the ginkgo next door decided to drop some of its branchage, partially on the roof of our back porch. Gutters hanging drunkenly and dripping. Fence smashed in two places. Ginkgo leaves, still green, are disbursed across the sidewalk and back yard. The trashcans are probably mutilated beyond recognition -- at this point we can't even view the bodies.
Good news (of a sort) is that the tree in question belongs to the house next door, owned by some family in California, one hopes more or less connected to the Ross family who lived there, briefly, about three or four years ago. So the cleanup and fix up will be (we fervently assume) on their dime(s).
Philadelphia's costume for Halloween was the Abominable Snowfall.
